Yorktown High School students help clean up Westside Park

The group from Yorktown H.S. relaxing after their volunteer workday at Westside Park

Yorktown High School started a Community Service Day in the 1996-1997 school year. Since then, a core group of students organized and implemented all of the activities under the supervision of faculty coordinators. During the last four years, the National Honor Society has coordinated the efforts of multiple student organizations as their students have performed over 7,000 hours of community service. The students assist many not-for-profits, government, and health care organizations in Muncie and Delaware County.
